Know Your Accounts was born from the desire to build something personal and lasting. After 20 years in a corporate role, founder Charlotte Smith realised she didn’t want to spend the rest of her career building someone else’s business. Starting a business spoke to her values. She wanted to pay it forward by helping her employees and clients build their futures too. By empowering businesses to prosper through sound bookkeeping, Charlotte found purpose in helping others succeed.
Having worked as a financial manager and witnessed immense business growth, Charlotte gained an intimate understanding of what businesses need from a bookkeeper. With experience in managing financial departments, she developed a multidimensional perspective on business operations and divisional reporting. This background and her experiences as a business owner have given her empathy for business owners and a clear understanding of what they require to thrive.
What began as a one-woman operation has grown into a thriving business with five employees and clients across various industries and scales. As Know Your Accounts continues to grow organically, Charlotte remains committed to supporting the prosperity of both her team and her clients.
